CMC36: the race of February 2010: 3-years celebration!

- Subscriptions are temporarily closed until Stef is back on Sunday - if you want, post here with your login if you are willing to subscribe (however be sure to watch this topic for the time subscriptions will be opened, otherwise the list will be filled quickly). Remember to read the rules to understand what kind of cup the CMC is, by the way.

- For personal reasons, Stef won't be able to maintain this edition on Thursday. With our biggest regrets, it had to be redefined 3 days earlier, to Monday; our apologies for any inconveniences that might result of this.


- This February, the CMC will celebrate its 3rd anniversary! It'll take place at 8:30 PM CET, and we will offer 7 tracks instead of the usual 4.

- Players can subscribe (min. 50 coppers) on the CoppersMillionCup dedicated server (its login being CMCSRV - click here to join), with a possible limit of ~220 slots. After crossing the limit, you'll have to contact the staff in exchange of an extra donation to the server.

- How to subscribe: on the window that appears when joining the server, specify the fee for your subscription (at least 50 coppers), click on "J'accepte" and confirm the payment. All coppers received will go to the JACKPOT! Feel free to boost it by donating


- About the rankings: for this special evening, there will be a Special Distribution with two rankings involved: the regular one will remain mostly untouched to declare the winners of the CMC, and the special one will be manipulated in some ways (random ranking, reversed ranking, etc.) so that not always the same ones win a lot of coppers.

- Prepare yourself for your satisfaction: during the evening, there will be a lot of players and maps will be long! You should decrease the game graphics and the number of cars shown on the screen. Try to think about "parasite" programs that use up much memory or consume CPU power. Also, especially on Vista which is badly optimized, consider increasing your computer memory (RAM) in order to avoid problems and limit loading times...

The ManiaNews is officially out around the world, thanks to Remo (I didn't make the translation)

Now that it appears on the main page, with currently 183 subscriptions, the closure of subscriptions may be imminent as it was the case 1 year ago (maybe we should close them after ~220 subscriptions)...
So if you're sure to be in front of your computer on next Monday at 8:30 PM CET, be sure to subscribe right now!

Correction: Stef won't do manual subscriptions through this forum, apparently. This request was posted just for estimating the number of pilots being willing to subscribe.

For subscribing, you'll still have to be one of these 20-30 players to subscribe until the list is maxed out... Stay tuned for the instant subscriptions will be reopened

At the moment, I'm resubscribing everyone who did so according to the server's chat log. And only after that I will reopen subscriptions on the server

The past and current subscribers weren't the only data that were lost. We also lost the following server data:
- The track records,
- The ranking of the donators,
- The server ranking based on track records,
- and other minor things...

After talking with Koko, I decided to reset all records and all donations' ranking data back to zero. This is in order to begin the 4th season with pretty new bases.
This reset will give everyone a chance to claim the best times on tracks and occupy the highest server rank.

The whole CMC team assists in putting the server back in order as quickly as possible and we hope to see you back on the server with these clean bases.

Stef will probably take a look at that today (on Monday), so stay patient until the problem is sorted out
EDIT: finally, subscriptions won't reopen. Pilots who posted their subscription on this forum are now subscribed.
Be sure to be on the CMC server in about 30 minutes

The first part of the ranking is done. For the coppers gain and other stuff, you'll have to wait until Thursday or Friday, sorry again

A brief reminder about the CMC: it consists in an evening organized every month which consists in having a good time with friends and rivals on a server with exclusive/unknown tracks. The CMC never had the ambition to provide gameplay on the best tracks of TrackMania - it is only supposed to provide entertainment (with the help of TeamSpeak for example).
I'll try to make sure all mapping styles are possible (including random luck, lolmap style), we're here for FUN.

This month's CMC will offer in total 500 000 coppers, which is the biggest JACKPOT ever done to my knowledge...

As for the coppers distribution, I divided it in 2 parts - I wanted everyone to end up with coppers. So here are the main values:

Points won during the CMC (each point is worth 7 coppers)
The "CMC Anniversary" bonus (+1300 coppers)
The "Winning a track" bonus (+1000 coppers)
The "Mappers' bonus" (+2500 coppers, after substracting the points won by the mapper on his/her track)
The "Winning Podium" bonus (for the 3 best players of the final ranking)
And the "Losing Podium" bonus (for the 3 last players of the final ranking)
